SMS Terms

These terms describe optional text messages from MARQS LLC, operating as MARQS, for a tournament. They are not a condition of registration, payment, or any other purchase. Live sending is not enabled.

What the messages are

A phone-verification code is a separate request. A person can ask for that code without agreeing to tournament updates. The code checks the contact phone. Requesting it, or completing the check, does not enroll anyone.

Tournament updates are a separate choice. A person can agree to optional operational updates about one tournament: division calls, ring changes, schedule changes, and announcements. MARQS LLC, operating as MARQS, sends those messages for that tournament. Each tournament needs its own enrollment. A choice for one tournament does not enroll the person in another.

Frequency, rates, and help

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to block further texts. Reply START to remove that messaging block. START does not restore withdrawn tournament consent or enroll you in a tournament. Reply HELP for help. Support email: [email protected].

Who agrees

An adult agrees for their own number. A minor does not consent alone. An adult who already has guardian authority can agree for the minor’s own number. A parent or legal guardian who is present can type their name, choose a relationship, and check that they are completing the consent themselves. Those typed details are a declaration. They do not prove identity, create an account, or give the adult new access to the contact.

The older profile checkbox “Allow SMS” and a tournament waiver are not this consent.

Phone information

The only phone a participant can edit is the contact phone. MARQS keeps internal snapshots of that phone for verification checks and for the history of those checks, plus the tournament enrollment wording that was accepted. A snapshot is not a second phone field. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

When live sending is enabled, the delivery provider processes the destination number and message content to deliver a requested verification code and consented tournament operational updates. Tournament staff who already manage the event can see text status for that tournament. See the Privacy page.

Review status

The wording shown here is pending provider-registration review. It does not make an acceptance live-approved, and an older acceptance is not rewritten to this wording.
